Planning Your Itinerary for the Ultimate Girls’ Weekend

If the last time you and your friends were in D.C. was on your 8th grade class trip, you need to experience it as an adult! A weekend getaway in our nation’s capital is more than museums and monuments. There are trendy restaurants, posh boutiques, rejuvenating spas, historic neighborhoods to wander through, and more.

To get around town, you can take public transportation or rideshare apps like Uber, but you’ll spend precious time waiting in line and pushing through crowds. By renting a private minibus or full-sized charter bus, you’ll have a dedicated vehicle and driver at your service the entire trip. You can even take a day trip to cities like Baltimore, Philadelphia, and NYC.

Ready to start planning your trip? Take a look at our sample itinerary below, inspired by our customers’ most popular destinations for girls’ getaways and bachelorette trips!

Day 1

Once you and your friends arrive at Reagan National Airport, it’s time to meet your driver! They’ll help you load your luggage and passengers into your personal minibus. Ride to your hotel to settle in and freshen up before the day’s activities. For affordable and comfortable lodging in D.C., our clients love the Capitol Skyline Hotel.

D.C. has no shortage of things to see, but the real fun comes from hands-on experiences. After lunch at the famed Le Diplomate, take your pick of activities, from DIY crafts at The Lemon Collective or Typecase Industries, to cocktail classes at Wisdom (or all of the above!). If your group prefers a more immersive activity, get moving with a class at Yoga District, Fuse Pilates, or Barre3.

After your classes, head back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner at the POV at The W Hotel. The dress code--according to management--is “casual sophistication” (think little black dress, not yoga pants). We recommend making a reservation ahead of time for this popular high-rise restaurant.

For a sweet, sweet nightcap, head to Milk Bar to try their world-famous crack pie and cake truffles.

Day 2

Girls’ weekend isn’t complete without brunch, and no brunch is complete without delicious breakfast cocktails. Stop by one of our clients’ favorites, Farmers Fishers Bakers, for hand-crafted mimosas and hearty dishes. While you’re in the area, stop by Big Wheel Bikes for a two-wheel tour of the neighborhood (and to burn off those mimosas)!

When you’re ready for lunch, your driver can take you to The Hamilton for creative American fare, sushi, charcuterie, signature cocktails, and more. The restaurant is a short walk from the National Museum of Women in the Arts, where you and your crew can see inspiring works by female artists. If that’s not enough art for you, head to the Renwick Gallery next. Be sure to snap some group photos in front of the White House--located on your left--before you reach the gallery!

Save some of your energy during the day for dinner and dancing at night. Thunderburger will give you all the protein you need to stay energized so you can dance all night at popular nightlife destinations like U Street Music Hall and Ultrabar.

Day 3

It’s your last day in D.C.--make it count! If you’ve rented a full-sized charter bus, you can load  Ride to Eastern Market in Capitol Hill before 9:00 a.m. so you’ll be ready to shop for handmade art and crafts as soon as they open. Once you’ve worked up an appetite, your driver can take you to El Centro for Mexican-inspired brunch dishes (and more mimosas). Because you have your own private bus rental, you can keep your purchases secure inside while you enjoy your meal.
